Red Hook Houses Microgrid

This funded a study (Phase I) to assess the feasibility of implementing a microgrid with a local energy source that could provide backup power for Red Hook Houses—home to more than 50% of the Red Hook Community—during an emergency. Pending the findings of the feasibility study, it is recommended that additional funding be secured to pursue implementation (Phase II). Upon the recommendation of the NY Rising Committee, the project has been understaken by NYCHA as part of their Sandy Redesign for the Red Hook Houses, and will be incorporated in the final build out. In addition, the Resilient Red Hook Committee move ahead with a microgrid study for the community as a whole, see the Red Hook Community Microgrid
